Q: How much does an Insect Control System™ cost?

 A: The cost of a misting system is directly related to the number of nozzles installed and the complexity of the install. Consult your local dealer for an accurate and free estimate of your specific needs.

 Q: Is the chemical safe for my pets and children?

 A: Pyrethrins and permethrin have been used safely and effectively in millions of applications annually for over a quarter of a century around people and animals with no known harmful effects.  Our pesticide is rated "very-low toxic" by the EPA.

 Q: Will the chemical leave stains or residue?

 A: The active ingredients biodegrade harmlessly in the environment but a residue of inert ingredients affect some surfaces.  This residue can easily be cleaned by water alone, but we strategically place nozzles to avoid any problems.

 Q: Will I be able to see the nozzles and tubing on my house?

 A: All installations are performed with the highest level of professionalism and care.  Nozzles and tubing are normally only seen from close proximity.  Painting services for the nozzles and tubes is available.

Q: Where will the tank be placed?

 A: Unit placement is done at the discretion of the customer.  Usual places are next to air conditioning units, pool equipment, under decks, garages, utility closets, etc.  Easy access is recommended for timer control and monitoring.  A 110-volt outlet must be within 6 feet for optimal electrical use.

 Q: Who would benefit from an Insect Control System™?

 A: Any home or business owner concerned about the nuisance and/or danger of biting and stinging insects.  Once installed around homes, pools, hot tubs, patios, decks, recreation areas, outdoor restaurants and entertainment facilities, farms and stables, the system effectively controls the population of all insects.

Q: What should I look for when choosing a company to install a misting system?

A: Look for a company that is adequately insured, in good standing with the Better Business Bureau and offers the installation of outdoor misting spray systems on a full-time basis. Be sure that they are licensed pesticide applicators in the state they serve. Licensed companies will have clear knowledge and continuing education of the products they will be using and will keep detailed records of each application. Most importantly, make sure that pyrethrins, piperonyl butoxide AND permethrin are used in the same container of pesticide concentrate. No other pesticide will give you the results you are looking for.

Q: Are Insect Control Systems™ dealers professionally certified?

A: A thorough training and certification program is required for our dealers.  In addition, all applicators and service technicians are licensed by the state in which they operate.

Q: How long does it take to install the system?

A: Each installation is custom-made, and generally takes a few hours, but might require as much as a few days to complete, depending on the size of the area and the complexity of the system.

Q: How often should I have the system activate each day?

A: Your local dealer will give you a recommendation based on your area and insect activity.  For mosquitoes, sprays are recommended once in the afternoon, twice in the evening, and once in the early morning before sunrise.  For spiders and wasps, sprays are recommended 2 hours after sunset and two more in the early morning.

Q: Is there any concern about possible runoff or ground water contamination?

A: The ingredients in our pesticides are not only biodegradable, but also heavily diluted.

Q: Will the bugs inside my house be affected by the outdoor spray?

A: Since insects must enter the house from outside, no more insects will be added to the indoor population.  Some final indoor treatments may be necessary to completely eliminate indoor insects.
